Ever imagined what batteries would look like in the future? Well, guess what? Some scientists in the Imperial College London in the UK are developing a special material that could store and discharge electric energy. And this special material might well be used for construction purposes, like for example (yep, you guessed it), cars.
Get a load of that. Soon a car’s bodywork will be able to do double duty of being the battery. Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? Not quite? No? Well, there are some pretty obvious repercussions of such a technology, like what if electrocutes the passengers, or what if it attracts lightning?
Some very trivial stuff for some people. Just for the sake of shedding off a few pounds of battery weight. But right now, nobody has a clue as to how this new material is going to shape future cars. Only the boys and girls down at Imperial College. There’s also Volvo. We forgot to mention that the academic team is working with Volvo, so make your own conclusions about that little bit of information.
Nothing really to worry about, unless you’re the Energizer Bunny.
