New Bentley Models: Design Series China Special Edition Cars

The coming 2010 Beijing Auto Show will showcase two new special edition Bentley models based on the Continental GT. The Design Series China models incorporates some bold offerings from Bentley, foremost of which can be seen in the cars’ exterior paint (Orange Flame and Magenta Metallic).

Other than that, the said vehicles also boast of a cabin featuring a three-tone interior: a leather hide color mixed with some orange and magenta accent colors.

The catch here is this: the said models are exclusively for the Chinese market. With China as one of Bentley’s fastest-growing markets and the third most important at that, I guess it makes sense to give the Chinese this kind of treat.

Bentley Unveils Its New Flagship Sedan

Bentley is at the Detroit Auto Show this year for two special reasons, one of which is to launch the 2010 Bentley Mulsanne, its flagship sedan. The Mulsanne is unlike any other vehicle, even unlike other Bentley models, in many ways. It exudes exclusivity at its finest and luxury at its best.

The color choices alone are already confusing because of their great number. Just take a look at the following color palettes:

• 114 paint colors
• 21 carpet colors
• 24 interior leather hides
• Nine wood veneers

A single model alone requires nine weeks to build due to more standard leather and wood veneer incorporated in the said model. Under its hood, you’ll find a 6.75-liter V8 engine that is capable of generating 505 horses and 725 lb-ft of torque.

With more power and more luxury, it’s no wonder the Bentley Mulsanne comes with a $285,000 starting price. If you want this exclusivity and you have the money, the Mulsanne will come to showrooms in the fall this year.

Meet Luke, The World’s Most Luxurious Charity Bus

Meet Luke, The World’s Most Luxurious Charity Bus

The photo above is that of Luke, a luxury charity bus that’s a product of 2000 hours of work by 59 Bentley workers, performed during their free time. Luke, a former London Routemaster double-decker bus, was acquired by St. Luke’s hospice earlier this year. The hospice asked the help of Bentley, which has been supporting the hospice for the past three years, in restoring the bus.

Bentley workers volunteered to do the work during their free time and local suppliers provided the materials needed for free. The bus has retained many of the trademarks of Bentley like hand-stitched leather. Another extraordinary transformation was with the bus’ “used ticket bin” which was converted to a donation bin.

According to the press release, the bus “will be used as a travelling shop for colleges and universities as well as an education and awareness base to visit schools and other events.”

Sales of All Sales

Sales of All Sales

Lamborghini Murcielago for $60,000, anyone?

The recent sales held by the Los Angeles Lamborghini dealer Viken Keuylian could be said to have been the sales of all sales, with discounts amounting to more than $300,000. Those would have been heaven for people who’ve been saving for a Lambo or a Ferrari or a Bentley and suddenly finding them offered at highly discounted prices.

For Keuylian, though, those sales were the signs of an impending disaster. The said dealer was arrested and pleaded guilty to defrauding Volkswagen Credit Inc. of at least $6 million in loans.

In 2007, Keuylian fell into debt. When the dealership started to get into financial trouble, he started selling cars at very low prices to keep it surviving. He didn’t report the sale of these cars to his creditor, the Volkswagen Credit Inc. And instead of paying back, he allegedly used the money to pay for his personal debts.

We’re sure Keuylian is in big trouble. But how about those who were able to get the discounted supercars? Well, we can only wonder.

Featuring: A Luxurious 1.09 Karat Bentley Key Fob

Can you believe that?

While most of the automotive companies are focused on the crisis the auto industry is facing today, and while a great percentage of the industry is raving about the newly released hybrid cars that will provide solutions to fuel economy problems, Amosu Luxury is into something new for those who really love luxury at its best no matter what. This luxury customization company, known for customizing such items as cellular phones, cameras, and phone and ipod cases and incorporating them with diamonds and gold, has shifted its focus to doing such customization to the Bentley key fob.

This time, Amosu details the Bentley Flying B logo by incorporating exactly 101 (yes, that’s a hundred and one) diamonds along the wings of logo in the key fob. This totals 1.09 carats at about $8000. Oh-oh, it would even be more dangerous for Bentley owners to lose their car keys now.

Other than Bentley, Amosu Luxury has also produced similar items for Mercedes Benz, Ferrari, and Lamborghini. The brainchild of Alexander Amosu, Amosu Luxury is known as the “world’s only luxury customization company using diamonds and gold to create the ultimate experience.” Amosu started with the customization of cellular phones. Today, it also customizes Mont Blanc writing instruments and Bluetooth headsets—and now, key fobs. What a unique idea!
